Apparently, one winery in Italy has invented an excellent idea: a 24-hour, all-you-can-drink wine fountain that will cost you nothing.

Yes, you heard it right!

Dora Sarchese winery announced on their Facebook page the opening of Italy’s first ever wine fountain last October 9 this year in a town called Caldari di Ortona.

Pilgrims travel to Ortona from Rome to visit the remains of Saint Thomas at Ortona’s cathedral, and the newly built wine fountain is meant to refresh pilgrims.

The Fontana del vino is houses inside a huge barrel and according to a separate post on their Facebook account, the fountain of booze opened to a great fanfare, although the winery just wanted to let everyone know that it’s just a spot to stop and have a drink along the street, not a place to hang out and quaff wine. But there’s really nothing stopping you.

This wine fountain was allegedly inspired by a similar one in Spain, tucked in Irache along the Camino de Santigao.
