2. Take a hike to Kreuzberg for a panoramic view of the city

Climb Berlin’s highest point, Kreuzberg, which is 66 meters above sea level and offers a stunning panoramic view of the city. Watch the scenic views or check out the monument in honor of the soldiers from the Prussian wars.

 

3. Discover ‘Little Istanbul’ at BiOriental Market

Missing the bustling atmosphere of Istanbul? Head to Berlin’s BiOriental Market, here you’ll discover fresh and organic produce, antiques, clothes, flowers, spices and many more. You’ll get entertained by the street musicians, too, and sample some Turkish delights.

 

4. Learn about urban gardening at Prinzessinegarten

Wondering how Berlin created a sustainable vegetable fields right in the middle of the city? Yes, they have one. It’s called the Princess Garden or Prinzessinegarten, a total wasteland that’s turned into an urban garden. Walk here and learn more about the garden’s concept.

 

5. Appreciate art at Kunstquartier Bethanien

This art gallery is the center of Berlin’s alternative art scene. There are a lot of free exhibitions here, as well as dance and theatre performances. Also check out the beautiful park surrounding the area. This gallery is open everyday!

6. Wander around Nikolaiviertel

This side of Berlin is also known as the “Old Town,” where Berlin was originally found in the year 1200, and was completely destroyed during the WWII and rebuilt in 1987. Take a stroll around this beautiful area filled with striking architecture and serene streets.

 

7. Climb the top top of the Reichstag Dome

Getting to the top of Berlin’s parliament building is completely free and be prepared to witness the scenic panoramic views of the city. But you have to pre-register first online or at the tiny building located near the southern entry.

 

8. Take a magical stroll by the Landwehrkanal

Although swimming is not allowed in the river as the water is polluted, strolling around its banks is a perfect way to spend the afternoon. It is 10-kilometr long with lovely views and quiet vibe. Here you can find a lot of sunbathers and people having picnics in sunny days.

 

9. Learn more about the Nazi regime at Topography of Terror

Get teleported to the Nazi regime from this free museum called Topography of Terror, where the police and state terrors occurred during the time of the Nazis. This also served as  the Gestapo and SS headquarters.

 

10. Check out the ruins of Spreepark Berlin

Guided tours are now available in this abandoned park that used to be an amusement park that;s operated from 1969 to 2001.
