To celebrate the Martin Luther King Day, the Museum of the African Diaspora will be granting free admission all day long on Monday, January 16th, in 685 Mission Street, San Francisco, California.

To celebrate the life and achievements of one of the US’ greatest heroes, the museum will be having a Day of Service by providing free admission and programs throughout the day in the form of film, art, and musical performances.

MoAD will celebrate the national observance of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday as a Day of Service, providing free admission to the museum and programs throughout the day.

Here’s the Program Schedule:

  • 11am-12 noon Film Screening |The March (60 min), a documentary on the March on Washington narrated by Denzel Washington, MoAD Salon
  • 11am-5pm Film Screening |Our Friend, Martin (62 min), an animated children’s educational film about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the civil rights movement, in the Freedom Theater
  • 11-4pm Family Drop-in Art Activity, Education Center
  • 11-5pm Complete an exhibition scavenger hunt and receive a prize
  • 1-3pm Sidewalk chalk art with Jamie Treacy, front sidewalk
  • 2:30 & 3:30pm Performance | Marcus Shelby presents MLK and the Blues, MoAD Salon
