I know of a lady that started off writing book reviews to assist a number of her favorite self-published authors and friends gain more traction within the amazon community and increase their sales. In a short period of time she learned how valuable reviews and marketing strategies are in the online commerce world. In about a year she reached the Top Amazon Reviewer status and people started to trust her opinions more and she started receiving lots and lots of requests to try products and do reviews, honest reviews.  She currently receives hundreds of dollars in free products on a weekly basis.

This week, she received face lotions that sell for about $25, a pair of shirts that sell for $30 each, tooth whitening creams valued at $45, 3 books at around $15 each, and even a free-gluten bread for $5.

You can also start on this wonderful world of free products. You just need to follow some simple steps, be patient and products will start flowing to your door!

8 Steps to Become a Top Amazon Reviewer

1. Sign up for an Amazon account

List the types of products you’re interested in reviewing.

You do not need to use your real name or full name, or a picture of yourself but write some info about you to give more authenticity to the profile.

2. Download the Amazon App

Get the app for your smartphone so you can scan the products you own to start building your review list.

If you buy something to review, you might be able to get deals from the companies, use the scanner in the app to see if there are deals or coupons you can use.

3. Start Writing Reviews

Be honest, write unbiased reviews of products you’ve already tried and always check your grammar and spelling!

Say why you bought it, if you loved it or hated it and any other important information you will like to add. Remember the more you write the better reviewer you will be and the more people will want to work with you.

If you don’t know what to write think about the questions you’d have if you were buying the product.

“Is it worth my money? Does it really work? Are there better brands out there?”

4. Be HONEST

You MUST disclose if you got a product for free. It’s one of the Federal Trade Commission’s rules, and Amazon will enforce it.

They have an algorithm that automatically blocks certain reviews, and they also have employees who investigate people who may be breaking this rule and you can get in trouble.

5. How Many Reviews The Item Has?

You need to make your reviews helpful, to do so you need “Helpful Votes”and that comes from people reading the reviews and finding it they contributed to their decision. If the product already has 1,000 reviews then the odds of yours getting read are very slim and you won’t find yourself climbing the coveted top spot of Top Amazon Reviewers.

If you have more “Helpful Votes” than reviews, your ranking goes up.

6. Items You Want to Get for Free

Consider the products you want to get for free and consistently review the same things repeatedly and you’ll become an “expert” in that field. This way you’ll eventually get inquiries from similar companies even before being a Top Reviewer.

7. Product Release Dates are Important

Products are released in the market before the hit Amazon and if you get to it first and make your review, more people will find your reviews helpful and your rankings will go up.

8. Social Media Presence

If you have a good following, you are more attractive to companies. You can separate your personal accounts with your reviewer accounts devoted just to review products. Sometimes companies request shout-outs on social media in order to get free products.

GOOD LUCK!
