The California Academy of Sciences offers free admission to each San Francisco neighborhood over a three-day weekend (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) in the spring and fall of each year. The first basically falls this Friday, October 12, 2018.
As long you present your driver’s license or other proof of residency, and then you can save yourself from paying $35.95 to explore the museum.
