Watch San Francisco Chamber Orchestra’s concert as they end the season on Friday, April 28th at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, California at 7:30 pm.

Admission is free but seating is on a first come, first served basis. Concerts are generally 90 to 120 minutes in length, with an intermission.

Peter Schickele and his funny alter ego P.D.Q. Bach will be well represented—namely by P.D.Q.’s brilliant reworking of the first movement of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony as a sportscast, showcasing play-by-play announcers, a whistling referee, and a penalty box for errant horn players.

Mozart and Haydn were notorious musical jokesters in their day, and Peter Heidrich’s witty “Happy Birthday” Variations sets a familiar tune in the styles of Bach, Brahms, and beyond.

Also catch them at Palo Alto on April 29 and in Berkeley on April 30.
