Join Katie Holten as she discusses her book About Trees at the Green Apple Books on the Park on Sunday, November 20th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in San Francisco, California.

In the book, Holten summons us to enter some of these forests. She also made a Tree Alphabet, which she used to translate a compilation of well-known, loved, lost and new writing.

The author takes her readers on a meaningful journey from “primeval atoms” and cave paintings to the death of a 3,500 year-old cypress tree. Holten also talks about the Tree Clocks in Mongolia, forest fragments in the Amazon, Emerson’s language of fossil poetry and unearthing a grove of beautiful stories along the journey.

In the event, expect an interesting fusion of storytelling and art, celebrating trees and our understanding of them, their potential and ubiquity, past and future. Holten will be accompanied by Green Apple’s Stephen Sparks.
