Join this gathering that honors, commemorates, and explores four anniversaries that deepen our knowledge about the Presidio, the Bay Area, and California as a whole namely: The 200th and 210th Anniversaries of the visits of two Russian ships to the Presidio in 1816 and 1806; the start of the Mexican-American War’s 170th anniversary in 1846; the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the mark of United States joining the World War II.

The event will be held at Presidio Officer’s Club on Saturday, November 19th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in San Francisco, California.

This event is totally free but an RSVP is required. No door fee needed and everyone is welcome to join.

The traditional book club reimagined as an inclusive public program that anyone can take part in, whether or not they’ve read the book. Enjoy contextualizing remarks by Presidio Trust historian, Barbara Berglund, and then either participate in or listen to the facilitated discussion of both the book and the general topic that follows. Think of this as part book club, part graduate seminar, part Parisian salon.
