Aside from the world-famous Leaning Tower, Pisa offers a lot more of attractions and activities, and fortunately, a lot of them don’t cost a thing. Start planning your trip and don’t forget to include the best things we’ve gathered that you can do in Pisa for free!

1. Say a Prayer in Duomo di Pisa

Hear a mass on a Sunday morning and see the awesome interior of Pisa’s main cathedral for free. It is also free to visit every day from the month of November up to the end of February. Take in the beautiful sights of the stained glasses, intricately decorated ceilings and religious paintings.

2. Visit Giardino Scotto Park

This park housed inside the converted fortress of Cittadella Nuova often holds different outdoor concerts and movie nights. The park has beautiful flower beds, grassy areas and tall tees, a play ground. It even has fun mini trampolines for adults and little kids.

3. Relax at Piazza Martiri delle Liberta

Just a few meters from Piazza del Duomo, join the locals, find your bench  and enjoy your lunch on this square while you people-watch or just soak up the Italian atmosphere, surrounded by towering trees.

4. Marvel at La Cittadella

Enjoy the beauty of this old fortress up close with the stunning view of Arno River. This citadel was built in the early 15th century and was rebuilt after getting damaged during WWII.

5. Take Advantage of Pisa’s Free Drinking Fountains

Save some euros from buying bottled water while wandering around Pisa and keep hydrated by having free water at the drinking fountain scattered all around the city. Try the popular one in Piazza de Duomo.
