Join Omnivore Books on Food as they welcome the innovative fromager Brian Keyser and pastry chef Leigh Friend in the launch of their new book Composing the Cheese Plate on Saturday, November 19th from 3:00 pm to 4:00pm in San Francisco, California.

The two set out to change the cheese situation at Casellula Cheese & Wine Cafe in New York City – and they turned out to be great change-makers.

Now, they are sharing their cheese knowledge in a book, delivering a guide to the wide, wondrous, world of cheese, and the best condiments that bring it to the next level. The book also include 70 recipes that goes well with cheese – from spicy fruit chutneys to whole grain mustards and nut brittles – and a handful of unexpected pairings.

Keyser is the founder and proprietor of Casellula Cheese & Wine Cafe, and has been a cheese evangelist and educator for more than a decade, while Friend is a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute and worked as the pastry chef and condiment maker at Casellula. She has also worked at NYC’s iconic Gramercy Tavern. Now she continues to work in the cheese industry. Both of them are now living in New York.

Omnivore Books on Food is a bookstore packed with different kinds new, antiquarian, and collectible titles all about food and cooking.

It frequently hosts events like author readings, food and drink tastings, chef talks, book signings, and cooking contests.
