Visit one of the most diverse gardens in the world, the San Francisco Botanical Garden on Sunday, January 1, 2017 as they open their gates to the public for free!

Located in 1199 9th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122, the San Francisco Botanical Garden is a unique urban oasis and a living museum within Golden Gate Park, which features 55 acres of landscaped gardens and open spaces, with over 8,000 different kinds of plants from all over the world.

One of the highlight is the Japanese-inspired garden called “Moon Viewing Garden,” which is located in the Mild-Temperate Climate part in the Northwest portion of the gardens.

Aside from New Year’s Day, here are other free days of the garden:

  • Second Tuesday of every month
  • Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year’s Day
  • Free daily from 7:30–9 am
  • Always free for San Francisco city and county residents (with proof of residency)
  • Always free for Garden members and school groups
