Follow Afghan archaeologist Qadir Temori as he fights for the 5,000-year-old Afghan city that is threatened by a Chinese state-owned copper mine.

“Saving Mes Aynak” will be screened this Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the San Francisco Main Library.

In the film, the Chinese are eager to harvest a staggering $100 billion worth of copper buried deeply underneath the Buddhist city’s ruins.

If the Chinese will be successful, this vital archaeological site along with the entire mountain range will be completely destroyed.
