Omnivore Books on Food invites you to the launching of the book “My Mother’s Kitchen” by Peter Gethers on Tuesday, May 2nd, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in San Francisco, California.

The book is about Judy Gethers, who discovered a passion for cooking in her 50s, and became a mentor and friend to several of the most popular chefs in America like Wolfgang puck, Jonathan Waxman, and Nancy Silverton. She also wrote a lot of cookbooks and taught cooking alongside Julia Child.

In her 80s, an illness stopped her from cooking, which has brought her closer than ever to her son, Peter, who regularly visits her so they can share meals together, and talk about Gethers’ colourful past.

Omnivore Books on Food is a bookstore packed with different kinds new, antiquarian, and collectible titles all about food and cooking.

It frequently hosts events like author readings, food and drink tastings, chef talks, book signings, and cooking contests.
